Case study

The idea of rebranding Elite Crew has been in our heads for a long time. So far, our website has been very technical which didn't really suit us. We needed a breath of freshness and modernity to show the company’s true side in a creative and friendly way to our potential customers.

Elite Crew is primarily a team, a team consisting of many specialised experts - they bring the greatest value to the company, so our goal was to distinguish these people. We wanted the website to reflect our spirit, the knowledge of our experts, our strengths and our values. We needed a complete refresh of our online appearance and entrusted this task to our internal team.

Technologies used:

Webflow
Figma
Google Analytics
Jira
Piwik PRO

SCOPE OF WORK

The aim of this project was to create a new website www.elitecrew.io and a new branding. Together with the team, we went through all stages of the project, i.e. research, mock-ups, UX / UI design, selection of new colours, copywriting, SEO, implementation and testing.

The main team responsible for the project consisted of 7 people, while each member of the Elite Crew team had insight and influence on the appearance of the site. We wanted the website to be modern, and colourful and show our skills and services well.

Services we did for them:

Our goal was to rebrand the company's identity through a new website.

  • Research on what we want to show as a company, our strengths, our values and our people
  • UX analysis
  • Branding workshops, during which we decided on the new brand identity
  • Preparation of mock-ups and initial graphic proposals
  • UI design along with workshops with the team
  • Working on the new website content, taking into account good SEO practices
  • Preparation of a new visualisation for the company's social media
  • Implementation using Webflow and SCRUM methodology
  • Connecting analytical tools (Google Analytics, Piwik.pro, HotJar)

Project development

01
First step

The first step was to analyse our needs, having the old site as a foundation to create initial assumptions for the new one. We learned about weaknesses worth changing or polishing, and on this basis, we started to create the structure of the new website. At this stage, we chose the factors that were important to us, and that we wanted to show on the website.

Our goal and intention was to present ourselves as a professional team, demonstrating our commitment and expertise, rather than being viewed as just another software house. We also brought our strengths and our values to the first plan. At the time, we also started working on mock-ups and texts that had to be changed or created anew.

02
Second step

Next phase was intensive work with the designer, who, based on the created mock-ups, gave the new website a modern look, fonts and colours. At this stage, we also started working on the documentation and design system, which was helpful for the development team at the later stage of implementation. We had several iterations of the design concept with our entire team involved.

During the workshops, we chose new colours, graphics styles, and the arrangement of sections, and the whole process took about 1 month. One of the coolest features that emerged at this stage was the dark mode. We decided to focus on the user's convenience and give them a choice between a light and dark theme.

03
Third step

After preparing the design, we handed over the project to a team of developers who took care of the implementation of the new website. We chose the new tool, Webflow, because it is easy to manage and offers comprehensive SaaS services, such as hosting and security. Additionally, it has great community support. We have developed this site accordingly to Webflow and general good practice that is in project dedicated style guide template and client first approach. We fullfield that with a custom class code to e.g. handle light/dark mode.

At this stage, analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Piwik.pro or HotJar have been connected to the new site as well. The website premiered on February 22, 2023.

04
Fourth step

We are fully dedicated to making this website the best that it can be. In order to achieve this, we regularly gather feedback from a variety of sources, including third-party experts and analytical tools. We take this feedback seriously and use it to make both minor and major changes to the site. In addition, we are adding new subpages to expand the site's offerings and provide even more value to our users.

05
Fifth step

The first step was to analyse our needs, having the old site as a foundation to create initial assumptions for the new one. We learned about weaknesses worth changing or polishing, and on this basis, we started to create the structure of the new website. At this stage, we chose the factors that were important to us, and that we wanted to show on the website.

Marek Wrzosowski
CEO

"This was one of the few projects in that I was part of the creative team of a product for my own organisation. We started it full of energy and ideas that after a few weeks were struggling with probably the most difficult challenge - finding our own way of how we want to present ourselves?! I know who we are and what are our strengths and uniqueness, however how to express it? How to communicate our identity to the world? In my opinion, it was the most challenging and difficult part of this project. Thanks to many hours of open talks we had with respect to ideas of each other and helpful feedback from friends we found our own, warm, friendly, and modern digital voice that we resonate with the rest of the world!

As I am a tech person, implementation was just a fact that we accomplished successfully 😉

Thank you, my team, for making it real, that each Elite Crew member is proud of and identifies with!"

Wojciech Błądek
Quality Assurance

"In this project, I was responsible for quality assurance, I checked the site for not only functional but also non-functional aspects, performed UI checks, analyzed the design, added relevant suggestions for quality improvement, took care of product backlog as well as sprint backlog, we worked in scrum framework. The challenge for me was a very large amount to control in a short period of time, I needed to reorganize my work to be more efficient, this is another challenge that I could face and add to my work experience :)"

Natalia Boyko
Junior Project Manager

"The website project was complex in terms of the numerous solutions, not only graphic but also functional. The process of creating the Elite Crew website showcased the importance of each Scrum event and effective communication within the team. A cohesive team of designers and marketers, along with a well-coordinated development team, is a recipe for success. We learned from each other, which helped create a positive atmosphere. For me, as a beginner PM, one of the challenges was establishing stability within the team and implementing good communication practices. Each team member, however, made a significant contribution to project management."

Justyna Wiśniewska
Social Media Manager & Graphic Designer

"Working on rebranding and a new website for our company taught me a lot. This was the first project I co-owned. It was an interesting experience and a huge responsibility. I had my input in designing the site from the beginning, creating mockups, choosing colours and the entire implementation process. Close cooperation with PM, the dev team and the designers showed me how important good communication in the team is. The new website brings great value to our organisation and allows us to expand our horizons."

Hubert Cep
WordPress Developer

"I took this project very personally because it is the main website of our company, the business card of each EliteCrew member. It was a great test for me as a developer. It wasn't just another assignment in a technology I know well. We utilized the potential of a powerful technology, which is undoubtedly webflow. The website itself incorporates unconventional solutions and functionalities, fully adapted to the current standards both in terms of code and design. During the implementation, we encountered many challenges that we had to face, but the teamwork and dedication that each of us put into it showed that there are no impossible tasks for us to accomplish."

Paweł Zienkiewicz
UX/UI Designer

"The design of the new Elite Crew website was a challenging task, requiring the transformation of what was already there into something new that is unlike any other site so that it will highlight the uniqueness of the people who work there. My task was to create a design for the site along with a working prototype. Thanks to collaborative work and many hours of meetings we managed to create something unique."

Weronika Juskowiak
Social Media Specialist & Copywriter

"Working on a new website for our company was an exciting journey for me. During the process of creating the new website, I mostly took care of the content and copy aspects, which required careful attention to detail, creativity, and an in-depth understanding of our company’s vision and values. I also worked closely with the design team to ensure that the content and visuals were seamlessly integrated. The launch of the new website was the culmination of our collective efforts, and we all were really happy that day, that everyone could see the results of our hard work."
